By Car

The faculty of Biosience engineering can easily be reached by car. Parking nearby the faculty is possible but can be quite expensive. A free option is to park your car at the Watersportlaan (click here).

Public transportation

When using public transportation, the best option is to take the train to Gent-Sint-Pieters. At the station, take Tram 4 in the direction of the city centre. You can stay on the tram untill you reach a road block (due to road construction, you can't miss it as you will be obliged to leave the tram). From there, you can follow the river Coupure to the left. The faculty is near the blue pedestrian bridge.

Hotels in Ghent

The faculty of Bioscience engineering is located near the city centre of Ghent, which counts a large number of hotels.

KERMIT (acronym for Knowledge Extraction, Representation and Management by means of Intelligent Techniques) is an interdisciplinary team of (bio-)engineers, computer scientists and mathematicians, initiated by Bernard De Baets in 2000. It draws upon intelligent techniques resulting from the cross-fertilization between the fields of computational intelligence and operations research. The activities are organized in three highly interwoven research threads: knowledge-based modeling, predictive modeling and spatio-temporal modeling.
